CJD INAUGURAL SUPPLIER DAY A HUGE SUCCESS
We hosted our very first CJD Supplier Day on July 12!
The good news is this will be an annual celebration of the relationships we have with our pharmaceutical suppliers, which have been key in enhancing CJD’s offering to its customers.
With 86 suppliers and a total of 161 delegates at the Supplier Day, held at our Delmas Distribution Centre, the event was a great opportunity to put names to faces as suppliers and staff mingled and networked.
The setting was informal yet stylish, with beautiful pallet furniture décor, three specialised baristas and loads to eat, providing a wonderful market-style vibe in the receiving area of our warehouse.
The Local Choice, CJ Marketing and the Pharmacy Development Academy exhibited their brands and offerings while Chris Williams welcomed guests and gave a brief background to CJ Distributors, which celebrated its 15th birthday on July 11.
Christopher Williams introduced CJ Distribution as “our 15 year old”, which most guests could relate to and which was thoroughly enjoyed by all – while bringing important points across about the business.
Our 15 year old has proven to be very hungry – stock hungry because of growth spurt! (which is a good thing).
Now with seven distribution centres nationally, one of the best turnaround times in the industry (delivered by our fleet) and a one-stop solutions hub, we are inviting our suppliers to use us as a vehicle in reaching their own sales targets!
Importantly, although we are more corporate and “grown up” today, we are still unique and young at heart, and have established a unique service offering.
What suppliers also gathered from Christopher’s talk about “our 15 year old” is that, like a teenager, we have certainly had a few bumps along the road over the years, but that’s just our way of developing into who we are and testing our strengths – after all, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
And, like any teenager, relationships are very important. We will continue to nurture both internal and external relationships between staff, customers and suppliers
Another highlight of the event was our CJD Supplier Awards.

No event is complete without fantastic food, of which there was plenty. Guests were invited to tuck into honey oak smoked pulled pork sliders, coffee in a cone and anything that tickled their fancy off our donut wall!
A sweet end to a spectacular CJD Supplier Day 2019!
